WebMay 15, 2024 · After visiting Culloden Battlefield, my husband and I walked down to Clava Cairns. It was about 3 miles round trip and was a lovely walk. It was a bit uphill on the way back, but I managed it at 58 while having bronchitis. It was definitely worth the walk! The site has 4 cairns and lots of well presented information. It’s the perfect peaceful place to visit after Culloden. You can walk right into two of the three cairns, though the entrance tunnel would have been covered in the past: you would have had to crawl.
