Web1 de abr. de 2010 · It can be inferred from Fig. 9 that the most active vertical circulation occurs in the frontal zones, and the upwelling movement generally appears on the inshore side of TMF. Lough and Manning (2001) also found upwelling on the mixed side of the front and surface downwelling on the stratified side. Webcooling is frequent on the warm side of the frontal zone and warming on the cold side, indicative of descent of the cold air and ascent of the warm air. Fairly definite evidence of such vertical motion exists for 13 of the 20 fronts examined, in four cases the evidence is inconclusive and in three vertical motion appears to have been slight.
